£4.5m compensation payouts by Welsh councils in two years - BBC Wales

Almost £4.5m was paid out by Welsh councils and their insurers on compensation claims over the past two years, according to new figures. One claim saw Newport council pay a cyclist £375 after they "came into contact with stingy nettles" on a path.
The sums, in a report by the TaxPayers' Alliance (TPA), show Cardiff paid out the highest amount in Wales - £800,000.
