Andrew Allison

National Grassroots Coordinator

Andrew was born and raised in Bishop Auckland, Co Durham. He has always had an interest in all things political since being a child, and first campaigned in the 1987 General Election when he was 16 years-old. After a brief spell in the civil service, he moved to the East Riding of Yorkshire, and worked in the driver training industry.

In 2009, he launched the Hull and East Riding Branch of the TPA, and has become a regular contributor in the regional press, radio and television. He has successfully campaigned for a reduction in salary for Hull City Council's chief executive, and organised a protest rally outside County Hall in Beverley over a £364K payment made to a director's pension fund. This has resulted in rules being changed so amounts as large as that will no longer be awarded.

He became the National Grassroots Coordinator in October 2010, where he is responsible for coordinating the work of our activists across the country.
