Kathryn Holloway: Absolutely, whoever you choose. Immediately before the introduction of PCCs, the independent Taxpayers' Alliance studied the old Police Authorities. It found that Chief Executives paid themselves an average of £90,000 per annum, up to £250,000. The Prime Minister earns just over £140,000 by comparison. The Chairs earned around £25,000 each and the members charged just over £10 million in attendance expenses in the last year of existence. Importantly, these members were not democratically elected and accountable. If you do not like what any one of us does you can make it known at the ballot box and get rid of us!
