Compensation culture: Leicestershire councils pay out nearly £400,000 for injuries and damaged goods - Leicester Mercury

Councils across Leicestershire have paid out more than £400,000 in compensation in the past two years.

They have given money to people whose cars have been damaged by pot holes or by reversing refuse lorries.

Payments have also been made to people who have tripped up on mats and uneven pavements.

The authorities have also paid out to people whose homes were damaged or were defective.
