Gloucester City Council paid over £17,000 to replace wheelie bins in 2015 - Gloucester Citizen

Dia Chakravarty, political director at the Tax Payers' Alliance, said: "These figures will certainly raise eyebrows.

"When taxpayers are struggling to make ends meet, councils must do everything in their power to keep costs down.

"Perhaps looking at cheaper alternatives could be a solution."
