Halton Council children's services director becomes Cheshire West And Chester chief executive - Liverpool Echo

A director is leaving Halton Borough Council following his appointment as Cheshire West And Chester Council (CWAC) chief executive.

Gerald Meehan had been working at both local authorities for the past five years, as head of the children and enterprise at Halton and as children’s services at Chester.

According to The Taxpayers’ Alliance lobby group in 2015, Mr Meehan was the second top earner at the council behind chief executive David Parr with Mr Meehan on £168,700 to Mr Parr on £203,900 in remuneration.

Mr Meehan will replacing departing CWAC chief executive Steve Robinson, and is due to earn £30,000 less than his successor with a salary of £150,000.
