Lib Dem peer charged taxpayer £9,000 to fly business class for 4-minute speech - The Telegraph

A Liberal Democrat peer charged the taxpayer almost £9,000 for a business class flight home from America to make a parliamentary speech that lasted just four minutes. 

Jonathan Isaby, chief executive of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, told The Sunday Times: “Given the brevity of Lord Paddick’s intervention, taxpayers can’t be blamed for feeling fleeced after funding the round trip of nearly £9,000.
