EURO-PRATS are wasting billions of pounds of British taxpayers' cash on pointless projects such as teaching Finns to tango.

Despite the credit crunch, the EU is splashing out on daft schemes and jollies.

A breakdown of the European Commission's spending reveals a series of projects, including GBP 1m to train Italian telly showgirls and GBP 10m to send Belgian councillors hunting.

Mark Wallace, of the Taxpayers' Alliance, said: "It's ridiculous and disgusting that the EU wastes so much of our money."
