Daily Express: 12,000 public sector staff retire on £50k
A Taxpayers’ Alliance report out today shows there are now more ex-civil servants drawing a pension than those currently paying in.

According to the report, the £25.9billion “pensions in payment” for unfunded public sector schemesout-strips the £21.4billion paid in by employees and employers combined.

Director of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, Matthew Sinclair, said: “This will be extremely tough on ordinary families.
“The Government must face down the unions and push ahead with reforms so taxpayers are not forced to guarantee unaffordable final salary deals.”
