This is Kent: Kent ninth in country for pension payouts
KENT County Council paid one of the highest employer pension contributions in the country last year, handing out a generous £52.4 million to staff.
According to figures released by pressure group the Taxpayers’ Alliance, this placed the council ninth in the league table of local authority pensions spenders. By comparison, East Sussex County Council paid just £33.9 million in 2010/11 while Birmingham City Council topped the list with a contribution of £112 million.
