TaxPayers’ Alliance spokeswoman Emma Boon added: “West Midlands Police has to find millions in savings in the coming years and senior officers need to do their bit by living in the real world.
“Many Birmingham drivers can barely afford to run their own vehicles because of high fuel duty, so it beggars belief they are expected to pay for this perk for well-paid police chiefs.”
