But Robert Oxley, campaign manager of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “Councillors shouldn’t look to taxpayers to buy themselves the latest gadget under the guise of a cost-saving.
“There are cheaper alternatives that would still only make sense if councillors abandoned paper entirely. Given the size of parish councils, the sums spent on iPads is even harder to square.”
