Jonathan Isaby, Chief Executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said:

'Strikes by teachers create massive disruption for pupils and parents in the same way that industrial action by doctors can lead to misery and anguish for patients.

'But it would be a particularly disturbing development if different unions are planning to co-ordinate action over separate issues to cause maximum havoc for the tax-paying public.Union leaders would not only be letting down the public, but also doing a disservice to their rank-and-file members if they seek to use their disputes for wider political point-scoring.'
