£200k of tax-payers’ cash studying impact of Star Wars

A TaxPayers' Alliance investigation has uncovered that UKRI has spent £200k on a research project to study the impact of Star Wars on climate change. The study aims to look at the environmental impact of creating the film and analyse the future that it forewarns in the movie. 

Speaking to the Sun on Sunday, which published these findings, our investigations campaign manager, Joanna Marchong, said:

"Taxpayers will think that likening the Death Star to global warming is totally absurd,

" Funded research should focus on actual science, not sci-fi fantasies."
