A TaxPayers' Alliance investigation has uncovered that £5 million has been spent on research into the development of alternative dairy and beef products.
Speaking to the Sun, which published these findings, our investigations campaign manager, Joanna Marchong said:
"Farmers will be rightly furious at punishing inheritance tax hikes.
“Generational farms are at risk, and instead of backing them, the government is pushing them out by investing in alternatives.
"Dairy and beef farmers are vital to our economy. Ministers should be supporting them, not taxing them out of existence."
