On Saturday I was down in Bristol to launch the Bristol branch of the TaxPayers’ Alliance which, for the time being, will also cover the South West. They will be looking closely at waste, non-jobs and mismanagement at Bristol council. One of our recent non-jobs came from Bristol where the council advertised for an ‘Active Bristol Manager’, using taxpayers’ money on yet another spin doctor. If that wasn’t bad enough, just recall the Bristol councillor who declared that no one has a right to park outside their home for free. Clearly our Bristol branch will have their hands full exposing the waste at Bristol council.
You can catch up on the Bristol TPA’s progress on their blog set up over the weekend. If you’d like to get involved either email me at HQ or our organiser James. Our other branches are working to spot the waste and inefficiency in their councils. For too long councils have been spending our money as if it grew on trees. Now our supporters are out there watching what local government is doing, they won’t just have to defend the indefensible; they’ll have to answer to their constituents as to why they continue to waste their money.
If you would like to join our grassroots campaign, please register your support with us – for free – by clicking the link here. The politicians will continue to waste your money. Getting involved with the TPA is the only way to get them to stop.
