Civil servants get day off for Vegan event

Civil servants are being given a day off to go to a "Vegetarian and Vegan Network" conference, a TaxPayers' Alliance investigation revealed. The conference is a two-day event and will take place on 19th and 20th May.

 

Speaking to The Telegraph, which published the findings, our investigations campaign manager Elliot Keck said:

“Taxpayers are fed up with civil servants wasting time on navel gazing.

“Whitehall’s priorities could not be more out of step with those of households up and down the country. Ministers should remind bureaucrats that they are public servants, not activists.

"The Ministry of Defence’s policy towards veganism states: “Where possible, all will be done to accommodate this belief.”
