Civil servants roll over £323 million worth of holiday

The TaxPayers’ Alliance has found that a total of more than £323 million of paid holiday was carried over between 2019 and 2023. More than £1.7 million days were carried over between the six departments with an average of 9.4 days per member of staff. The worst offender was the Ministry of Defence, who had £296 million worth of leave. This was followed by the Department of Levelling up with just under £25 million.
