Dracula study sucks up £80,000 of taxpayer money

A TaxPayer's Alliance investigation has found that over £8 million has been given to universities to fund ridiculous active research projects. Paying Specific attention to the University of Derby that spent £80,000 of taxpayers' cash to fund a project about Dracula. 


Speaking to the Telegraph, which published these findings, our investigations campaign manager, Joanna Marchong, said:

“ Taxpayers will be livid when they see how ridiculous some of these research projects have become.

“ Councils within UKRI should be investing in research that makes a difference in society instead of these fluff pieces costing taxpayers millions of pounds.

“ Ministers need to clamp down on these research councils and put an end to rampant unchecked spending.”
