A TaxPayers' Alliance investigation has uncovered that in 2023/24 the NHS employed 212 workers that spent 100 per cent their working time on trade union duties. Total cost of trade union facility time was £17.1 million. 168 NHS Trusts had more than 49 taxpayer-funded union representatives.
