Labour accused of hypocrisy over lavish spending by civil servants

A TaxPayers' Alliance investigation has uncovered that government departments have used Government Procurement Cards to spend a minimum of £126,835.48 on hotels, away days, gift vouchers, and more.

Speaking to the Times, which published these findings, our investigations campaign manager, Joanna Marchong said:

“Taxpayers will not be surprised by Labour’s hypocrisy.

“Labour were on the ball when exposing wasteful Tory GPC expenditure, but since they’ve been elected, they’ve not heeded their own advice.

“If ministers want to avoid having the tables turned on them, they should practice what they preached”
