An overwhelming majority of people in the North East said an empathic ‘no’ to the North East Regional Assembly back in 2004. Since then, the government haven’t dared to put any other Assemblies up to a public vote, showing how unpopular and unwanted these White Elephants are. These unelected Quangos – all part of European regionalisation – still exist, with no mandate or legitimacy to govern over us, however. “Communications Officer

EERA provides representation for the East of England within the European Union and to central Government with a particular role in advising Government on regional planning, housing and transport issues. It also scrutinises the work of the East of England Development Agency and provides support to the 54 local authorities in the region.
In the role of Communications Officer you will help to promote the Assembly’s work through a range of external communications activity including its website, publications and media relations. This is a varied role requiring flexibility and sensitivity to the needs of Assembly members.
Secondment requests will also be considered.
