As part of The Public Sector Rich List, the TaxPayers’ Alliance has compiled the most comprehensive list of Police and Crime Commissioner and Police Authority employees who had total annual remuneration over £100,000.

The key findings of this research are:
- There were at least 670 police employees who received total remuneration in excess of £100,000.
- There were 99 police employees who received remuneration in excess of £150,000.
- 20 received remuneration more than £200,000
- Of these employees, 41 had total remuneration of more than £150,000. Five had total remuneration of more than £200,000.
In the East Midlands:
- Derbyshire Constabulary and Nottinghamshire Police had the most employees who received remuneration in excess of £100,000 - 11.
- The individual who received the biggest remuneration package was Chris Eyre, Chief Constable of Nottinghamshire Police - £187,418.
In the East of England:
- Hertfordshire Constabulary had the most employees who received remuneration in excess of £100,000 - 8.
- The individual who received the biggest remuneration package was S Kavanagh, Chief Constable of Essex Police - £213,190
In London:
- The Metropolitan Police had the most employees who received remuneration in excess of £100,000 - 201.
- The individual who received the biggest remuneration package was C Mackey, Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police - £298,948.
In the North East:
- Northumbria Police had the most employees who received remuneration in excess of £100,000 - 14.
- The individual who received the biggest remuneration package was Sue Sim, Chief Constable of Northumbria Police - £202,801.
In the North West:
- Greater Manchester Police had the most employees who received remuneration in excess of £100,000 - 26.
- The individual who received the biggest remuneration package was the Chief Executive of Greater Manchester Police and Crime Commissioner - £249,900 (including £133,420 listed as “other payments”).
In Northern Ireland:
- The Police Service of Northern Ireland had 65 employees who received remuneration in excess of £100,000
- The individual who received the biggest remuneration package was Judith Gillespie, the retired Deputy Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland - £196,543.
In Scotland:
- Police Scotland had 9 employees who received remuneration in excess of £100,000
- The individual who received the biggest remuneration package was Sir Stephen House, Chief Constable of Police Scotland - £212,500.
In the South East:
- Thames Valley Police had the most employees who received remuneration in excess of £100,000 - 20.
- The individual who received the biggest remuneration package was Jenni Douglas-Todd, Chief Executive of Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner - £217,252.
In the South West:
- Avon and Somerset Constabulary had the most employees who received remuneration in excess of £100,000 - 16.
- The individual who received the biggest remuneration package was Sue Howl, Chief Executive of Devon and Cornwall Police and Crime Commissioner - £258.168
In Wales:
- North Wales Police and South Wales Police had the most employees who received remuneration in excess of £100,000 - 7.
- The individual who received the biggest remuneration package was the Director of Finance and Resources of Dyfed-Powys Police - £202,005.
In the West Midlands:
- West Midlands Police had the most employees who received remuneration in excess of £100,000 - 23.
- The individual who received the biggest remuneration package was Chris Sims, Chief Constable of West Midlands Police – £200,400.
In Yorkshire and the Humber:
- Humberside Police had the most employees who received remuneration in excess of £100,000 - 9.
- The individual who received the biggest remuneration package was Mark Gilmore, Chief Constable of West Yorkshire Police - £216,574.
