A TaxPayers' Alliance investigation has uncovered that nearly 8 million days have been lost in schools by over 900,000 pulling sick days between 2020 to 2023
Speaking to the Telegraph, which published these findings, our investigations campaign manager, Joanna Marchong, said:
“Students will feel under siege by a government that is determined to pick their pockets at every opportunity.
“While in principle it is fair for university students to pay more, far too many leave education with degrees that don’t deliver well paying jobs while those that are successful face frozen tax thresholds and a housing market that is impossible to access.
“Rachel Reeves needs to ensure she now builds an economy that genuinely works for young people and doesn’t just treat them as cash cows.”
