Sara Rainwater

Sara grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and has been involved in politics and campaigning from a very early age, having helped her uncle’s first local election campaign at the age of 12. She received her Bachelor of Science in International Relations at Middle Tennessee State University in 2001 and completed two prestigious internships with the US State Department – at the United Nations and the US Embassy in London.

She moved to London in 2002 and started a post-graduate degree in European Studies at the London School of Economics. She worked for Sir Bill Cash MP, running his organization the European Foundation, and later went on to work as Manager of Global Vision for Ruth Lea and Lord Blackwell.
Sara Rainwater joined the TPA in 2008 as Operations Manager at a critical time when the organization was rapidly growing, both in terms of influence but also structure and size. Over the years, Sara has been responsible for all aspects of the business side of the organization, including managing a buoyant and diverse fundraising programme; producing major reports; and managing the TPA’s events.
Now as Operations Director, she oversees the day-to-day management of the team, keeping the organisation on track to deliver its ambitious research and campaigning programmes.

During her career, she has organised many high-profile events with international dignitaries such as Baroness Thatcher, President Vaclav Klaus of the Czech Republic, former French President Valery Giscard d’Estaing, former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton and leading supply side economist Dr Art Laffer.
