Scottish government funding lobbyists against UK government

The Scottish government has provided more than £6.4 million grant funding to organisations that have lobbied against the UK government's decision to block the Gender Recognition Reform Bill, a TPA investigation revealed. Ten organisations received funding from the Equality and Human Rights Fund over a three year period.

 

Speaking to the Sunday Times, which revealed the findings our chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance said:

“Scots are sick of seeing their cash used to deepen divisions with Westminster.

“With public services suffering, and taxes even higher than down south, the last thing taxpayers need is for money to be redirected to lobbying and lecturing for controversial causes.

"The Scottish government should end the political merry-go round and focus funds on people’s priorities.”
