Senior civil servants spend £80,000 on business class travel in three months

A TaxPayers' Alliance investigation has unearthed that senior Department of Business and Trade officials have spent £82,625 on first class flights for 14 trips. These officials spent a total of £73,369 on business class flights and an additional £8,647 from September to December 2023. 

 

Speaking to Guido Fawkes, which published these findings, our investigations campaign manager, Joanna Marchong, said:

"Taxpayers will want these business class bureaucrats to be brought back down to earth.”
