The treasury has u-turned on its cap on public sector exit payments, meaning that bureaucrats can once again receive six-figure golden goodbyes!
In 2015, the TPA proposed a £95,000 cap on exit payments, which entered the Conservative manifesto and became law in 2016. It wasn’t until five years later, in November 2021, that ministers forced reluctant civil servants to finally implement the cap - but after only three months, Whitehall mandarins and union bosses managed to get it overturned!
We won’t let this slide. Sign our petition and get the government to reintroduce the cap.
Stop the public sector golden goodbyes.
