TaxPayers' Alliance responds to Boris Johnson's speech at Conservative Party Conference

For Immediate Release

Responding to Prime Minister Boris Johnson's speech at Conservative Party Conference, John O'Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said:

"The Prime Minister’s full throated defence of dynamic free market capitalism was a breath of fresh air.

"Boris is bang on that we need a can-do tax-cutting government to pioneer a high wage and low tax economy, particularly as taxpayers will be picking up the tab for a range of spending splurges.

"With a budget coming this year, it’s time for Boris to turn his words into action and deliver a blockbuster budget for Brexit Britain, with lower and simpler taxes and that backs business to the hilt."
