TaxPayers’ Alliance responds to Brown report

For immediate release

Responding to Gordon Brown’s Commission on the UK’s Future, John O’Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said:

“Gordon Brown is right to point to the enormous savings that could be made by moving civil servants out of London.

“Shifting government out of the capital would ease the burden on taxpayers by freeing up office space and reducing London weighting, and may help to address regional inequality.

“Labour now needs to show it has the courage to control tax and spend across the board.”
