TaxPayers’ Alliance responds to Keir Starmer’s conference speech

For immediate release

Responding to Keir Starmer’s speech to Labour Party conference, John O’Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said:

“After years of Tory tax rises hammering working taxpayers, Starmer is right to sing from the hymn sheet of aspiration.

“But the idea that endless spending commitments and a new energy quango will solve the cost of living crisis is wishful thinking.

“Labour needs to not just talk-the-talk but show they are ready to walk-the-walk on going for growth.”
