Responding to Kemi Badenoch’s speech at Policy Exchange criticising global quangos and activist courts, John O'Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said:
“Kemi’s speech will come as a welcome change for Brits fed up with the managerial diatribe emanating from their political class.
“Taxpayers have been funnelling tens of billions into the pockets of global quangocrats and activist international lawyers for decades, and it's abundantly clear that this is not working.
“If Kemi is serious about putting the national interest first, she must commit to a full and comprehensive review of the UK's membership of global quangos, with a clear intention to cut funding or withdraw entirely if membership is not delivering for taxpayers.”
