TaxPayers’ Alliance responds to the early release of prisoners

For immediate release

Responding to the early release of prisoners, John O’Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said:

“Taxpayers will be rightfully worried today as thousands of prisoners are let loose into society.

“Stamer has chosen to mitigate the problem of crowded prisons by just releasing inmates instead of mandating them to serve out the justice that taxpayers paid to see.

“The primary issue will remain the same if nothing is done, prisons need to be built.”
