TaxPayers’ Alliance responds to Together Energy facing collapse

For immediate release

Responding to reports of Warrington Council backed Together Energy on the verge of collapse, John O’Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said:

“It’s no surprise to see another council-backed energy company facing collapse.

“Failures like these leave locals with the double whammy of rocketing bills and council tax hikes.

“Local authorities must avoid experimenting in the energy market and focus on keeping council tax down.”
