TaxPayers’ Alliance responds to Truss’s energy plan

For immediate release

Responding to today’s announcement of the energy price cap freeze, John O’Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said:

“While the war in Ukraine has caused unprecedented market distortions, this intervention is still staggering in scale, and likely to leave taxpayers in the lurch.

“Suspending green levies and reforming the energy supply is long overdue, but the bill for freezing prices will be hanging over taxpayers’ heads for years to come.”
