TaxPayers' Alliance welcomes Sadiq Khan's plans to save cash by moving City Hall

For immediate release

Responding to the news that Mayor of London Sadiq Khan is to save taxpayers' cash by moving City Hall, James Roberts, political director at the TaxPayers' Alliance said:

"Congratulations to Khan for putting taxpayers first and moving the mayoral team to more affordable offices.

"GLA savings are long overdue, and this sends a message that the mayor is crystal clear about the need to get a grip on City Hall spending.

"But with hundreds of staff still taking home mega bucks and bumper bonuses, Sadiq should build on this move by reining in his massive mayoral operation, and finally trim City Hall down to size."
