The cost of public sector pride

Public sector pride cost taxpayers more than £500,000 in 2023, according to an investigation by the TaxPayers' Alliance. The spending by councils, police forces, fire departments and NHS Trusts totalled £554,000. This included purchases of merchandise and sponsoring of event.

 

The highest spending organisation was the Greater London Authority, which spent a total of £126,700 on event sponsorship and merchandise.
