According to this blogger the West Midlands will soon see the demise of one of its many many quangos as Shropshire’s own Transforming Telford looks to be nearing the end.
The powers of this regeneration quango are being repatriated to Telford & Wrekin Council, and although the local authority only have two members on the board of directors, it’s fair to assume that there will be an agreement to wind up this agency as it will no longer have a purpose to serve.
It’s great to see this expensive venture come to an end and to see powers removed from highly paid executives to be handed back to local government, thus giving local people more of a say.
It’s just unfortunate that this is a case of one down, an awful lot more to go!
