UNISON General Secretary remuneration clarification and apology

For immediate release

In our press release and report headed ‘Trade Union Rich List 2022’ we gave a remuneration for Christina McAnea General Secretary of UNISON that was incorrect and misleading. Ms McAnea did not ‘take home’ or ‘receive £225,891’ as remuneration but in fact the sum of £119,513 with benefits of £12,756, plus pension contributions and employer’s national insurance contributions that are not publicly available. We apologise for this error and have corrected both the report and press statement and have agreed to make a donation to UNISON’s Welfare Fund.
