Corbyn announces "prospectus for poverty, unemployment, debt and recession"

September 28, 2016 4:10 PM

Responding to the speech by Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn today at Labour Party Conference, John O'Connell, Chief Executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said:

"This was a prospectus for poverty, unemployment, debt and recession. With the national debt standing at £25,000 for every man, woman and child and the government running a deficit for the 16th consecutive year, it beggars belief that Corbyn wants to pile up the bills for future generations of taxpayers even further. These aren't new ideas, just the same harebrained policies that have caused misery wherever they've been tried."
