Don't miss our Public Sector Rich List

This morning our latest TaxPayers’ Alliance ‘Public Sector Rich List’ hit the press. In an exclusive investigation in conjunction with the Daily Mail, we reveal how town hall fat cats, NHS chief executives and police chiefs have been rinsing taxpayers with ludicrously high salaries and lucrative pension pots.

Leading on the front page of the Mail today, with the revelations continuing in the paper throughout the week, our Chief Executive Jonathan Isaby spoke to Sky News this morning to explain our months of pain-staking research into these public sector pay packets. The story leads on MailOnline, and we also appear online on The Guardian, The Times and Conservative Home websites.

Responding to the information revealed, Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne told the Mail: “I intend to issue new guidance sending a clear signal to public sector employers on pay and terms – setting out what I, and I suspect most taxpayers, see as unacceptable. What this shows is the scope that remains for savings at a time when budgets need to be trimmed. We’re determined to do all we can to rein in excess where we find it.”

The full data tables, containing salary information, names and job titles, are available on our website. You can also search for your local council’s top dogs using the MailOnline council search tool.

Stay tuned for more details of our report in the Daily Mail every day this week.
