More people are urging the Government to 'Stop the Energy Swindle'

The weather may have taken a turn for the worse, but this hasn't stopped us campaigning! With the mercury plummeting and the thermostat turned a little higher, many people are thinking about how they can afford to pay their energy bills, and last week we got a great response in Romford for our 'Stop the Energy Swindle' campaign.

Many local people signed up to our campaign and many more people have written to their MP calling for an end to the extravagant subsidies for uneconomic sources of energy.  Taxes and levies are responsible for 11 per cent of a typical family gas bill and 16 per cent of a typical family electricity bill.

This week were are holding another two stalls in East Yorkshire. On Wednesday morning at 10.00 am, we are in Driffield, meeting in the Market Place near the clock. On Wednesday afternoon, we will be in Hornsea from 1.30 pm, meeting on Newbegin, near the Co-op.

If you are in either Driffield or Hornsea on Wednesday 20 November, pay us a visit, and if you haven't done so already, please write to your MP using EnergySwindle.org. It only takes a minute and makes a real difference.
