TaxPayers’ Alliance responds to further strikes by junior doctors

For immediate release

Responding to an announcement that junior doctors will strike for five more days, John O’Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said:

“Brits are growing impatient for a return to the fully-functioning health service that they deserve.

“Whilst the right to strike is important, doctors are asking for a pay rise that taxpayers cannot afford and which patients are paying the price for.

“An agreement must be reached that respects the valuable work that doctors perform while ensuring a fair deal for taxpayers.”
