TaxPayers’ Alliance responds to IMF growth forecasts

For immediate release

Responding to the IMF’s growth forecasts, John O’Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said:

“The cost of government crisis continues to hold back the UK economy.

“With inflation continuing to pile pressure on hard-pressed families, the biggest tax burden in over 70 years merely compounds the misery.

“The government must set out how it will get costs under control to make room for targeted tax cuts that will boost investment, turbo-charge growth and give taxpayers some much needed relief.”
