TaxPayers’ Alliance responds to reports that Jeremy Hunt will tell councils to cut diversity schemes

For immediate release

Respon
ding to reports that Jeremy Hunt will tell councils to cut diversity schemes, John O’Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said:

“Taxpayers are sick of pumping in money to the diversity industry only to be told that their local authority is cash-strapped and council tax will have to be hiked

“The EDI industry has taken over the public sector with its pointless initiatives, schemes and pet projects and the chancellor is right to clamp down on this waste of time and cash.

“Ministers should ditch the diversity demagogues right across the public sector and incorporate the necessary parts of their roles into existing jobs.”
